My garden is full of surprises.
One day last month, when I was moved to do a bit of tidying up outside, I found this:
That's one funny lookin' Christmas tree...
Having long ago resigned myself to the fact that the romanesco cauliflower I had planted earlier this year had come to naught, there it was, a single specimen, presenting its wonderfully fractal head for inspection. At times like these, you really have to hand it to Mother Nature.
So, what if you were advised (as someone I know was recently) that, for a period of time at least, you needed to go on a diet which, for reasons of digestive health, involved avoiding all of the following:
- dairy products
- red meat
- raw vegetables
- cruciferous vegetables (such as cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower, cooked or raw)
- fruits with high acid content
- peanuts (raw or in butters)
- pulses in anything other than very small amounts
(Brief pause for exclamation of your choice here.)
